Ross E. Eisenberg is Environmental and Energy Counsel for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business federation representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region. Ross is responsible for promoting the Chamber’s environmental and energy policies in legislative, regulatory and other contexts. He is also Committee Executive for the Chamber’s Environment & Energy Committee, one of the Chamber’s primary vehicles for creation and development of environmental and energy policy.
Prior to joining the Chamber, Ross spent five years as an environmental, energy and insurance coverage attorney in the Washington, DC office of Greenberg Traurig LLP, a 1600-lawyer full-service international law firm. At Greenberg Traurig, Ross represented large and small companies on a wide range of environmental and energy matters, including permitting and compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, pesticide registration, rights of way and ratemaking, environmental insurance coverage, and assorted litigation. Ross also represents, on a pro bono basis, an Alabama death row inmate challenging his sentence on the basis of ineffective assistance of counsel.
Ross is a member of the State Bars of Maryland and the District of Columbia. He has a B.A. from Emory University and a J.D. from Washington & Lee University School of Law.
This panel will consist of a discussion with various small business executives concerning current energy policy and its impact on U.S. energy security, the industrial & agriculture sectors, small business and consumers. A CEA representative will also discuss national communications and outreach. The panel serves to provide a good perspective on energy prices and the impact of energy prices on small businesses around the nation. Panelists will also discuss the importance of creating comprehensive energy policy that guarantees secure and affordable energy for small business, agriculture and manufacturers by properly balancing the near-term use of traditional sources, the long-term development of alternatives and improved energy efficiency and conservation.
